Compare the area, any published fee, trial class and the date we last checked each listing. Then open a full page or ask the matcher for a shortlist.
We do not invent prices or hours. If something is missing it shows as Not confirmed.
Facts come from Roundhouse research only. If we have not confirmed something, it says “Not confirmed” instead of a guess. A gym shows as confirmed only when the gym itself confirmed the listing.

Karate is a striking art from Okinawa and Japan. You learn punches, kicks, blocks and stances, practise them alone, with a partner and in set sequences called kata, and move up through coloured belts as you improve.
Classes are usually run in a dojo (a training hall). Most schools teach kids and adults, and many welcome complete beginners. Styles differ a lot, so the school's style tells you more than the word karate does.
A Japanese style known for strong, long stances and direct, straight-line techniques. Classes mix basics (kihon), set forms (kata) and sparring (kumite). Many schools in our listings teach it, including JKA-style dojos.
A full-contact style. Sparring is hard and continuous, usually without gloves or pads. Punches to the face are not allowed, but kicks to the head can be. It suits people who want to test themselves against a partner, so ask how beginners are brought into contact.
An Okinawan style whose name means hard and soft. It mixes firm strikes with circular blocks and close-range work, with a lot of attention to breathing and kata.
An Okinawan style with a compact, direct way of striking. Some schools teach it alongside kobudo (traditional weapons).
Yes. Most dojos run beginner batches for adults and kids, and you start at white belt. Ask for a trial class to see whether the pace suits you.
Pick the teacher first. After that, Shotokan suits people who like clear, structured basics, Goju-ryu suits people who like close-range work and kata, and Kyokushin suits people who want hard, full-contact sparring.
It varies by school and association. Most take several years of regular training with gradings along the way. Be wary of any school that promises a black belt on a fixed short timeline.
Many schools run kids' batches with basics, games and early belts. Look for small groups, a patient coach and clear rules about contact. Visit a class before you commit.
Usually not. Most schools let you try a class in comfortable clothes and sell the uniform once you join. Ask when you enquire.
It depends on the school. We only show a fee when we found it on the school's own page, otherwise the listing says Not confirmed. Gradings and uniforms are usually extra.
