GHMC's Sports Section lists 14 municipal swimming pools across Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Several sites have a main pool and a separate baby pool. You register through GHMC's online sports portal, sports.ghmc.gov.in. GHMC has not published current fees or season dates on any page we could find, so ask at the pool or call the Games Inspector listed for it.
This guide is a starting point for finding a GHMC pool. It covers what GHMC itself publishes, who to call and the questions to ask. Where GHMC gives no information, we say so instead of repeating figures from other websites.

The phone numbers are the Games Inspectors' numbers printed in GHMC's document. They are officials who look after several pools, not a booking line.
Two numbers that don't match. GHMC's sports page says the corporation has "12 sports complexes, seven swimming pools, 521 playgrounds". The 2025 list has 14 entries at 11 sites, with baby pools counted separately. The list is the more detailed and more recent document, so use it.
Secunderabad. Roundhouse lists an MCH Swimming Pool in Kalasiguda, Secunderabad. We have not confirmed that it is the "GHMC Secunderabad Swimming Pool, opp. Parade Grounds" in GHMC's list.
Pools that are not GHMC's
Several well-known public pools in Hyderabad are run by other bodies and are not on GHMC's list. Examples are Gachibowli Stadium, which our listing records at the Sports Authority of Telangana State's Gachibowli Stadium, and LB Stadium. Their rules and fees are separate, so don't assume GHMC's registration covers them.
Looking for something specific? We have separate guides to heated pools in Hyderabad you can use without a membership and women-only swimming sessions in Hyderabad, and you can browse every listed pool on the pools page.
How to register on the GHMC sports portal
GHMC runs online booking for its sports facilities at sports.ghmc.gov.in ("Sports Complex Online Booking, Government of Telangana"). The new user registration page asks you to pick a user type, and has separate fields for individuals, organisations and schools. It verifies your mobile number by OTP. For an individual, the form asks for:
- name, father's name, gender and age
- email, address and profession
- a password
- a photo and an address proof, uploaded as JPG, JPEG or PNG
These fields are from the registration page as we read it on 4 November 2026. GHMC can change the form, so go by what the portal shows you. We could not confirm, from GHMC's public pages, how a swimming pass is chosen and paid for after login, or what it costs. The logged-in portal shows that.
What GHMC has not published
- Fees. We found no GHMC page or document with current swimming pass prices. Other websites quote figures, but none link to a GHMC source, so we don't repeat them. Ask at the pool or check the portal after logging in.
- Season and timings. We found no GHMC page with current pool season dates or session times. GHMC's sports page says it runs summer camps "at nearly 1600 centers in 51 different games and sports". That tells you GHMC is busiest in summer, but it gives no swimming dates.
- Pool length and lanes. GHMC's list gives no dimensions. Our pool pages show "Not confirmed" until a source states them.
What to ask before you go
- Is the pool open now, and when does the current or next season start and end?
- Which batches are open to adults, and how long is each session?
- What does a pass cost, and is it paid only through the portal?
- Which documents do you need at the pool? Some public pools in India ask for a medical certificate and photographs, so ask whether GHMC does.
- Are there separate sessions for women or children, and does a coach or lifeguard supervise them?
Frequently asked questions
How many swimming pools does GHMC have?
GHMC's Sports Section list, dated 25 September 2025, has 14 entries at 11 sites, including baby pools. GHMC's general sports page says "seven swimming pools", which looks out of date.
How do I register for a GHMC swimming pool?
Create an account at sports.ghmc.gov.in with OTP verification, a photo and an address proof, then log in. GHMC's public pages do not show the swimming-specific steps or fees, so confirm them at the pool.
What is the GHMC swimming pool fee?
Not confirmed. GHMC has not published a fee on the pages we found. Ask the pool or the Games Inspector listed for it.
Is Gachibowli Stadium pool a GHMC pool?
No. It is not on GHMC's Sports Section list. Our listing records it at the Sports Authority of Telangana State's Gachibowli Stadium.
